WOODLAWN LAKE COMMUNITY GUIDE
Stock, streets, and amenities for Woodlawn Lake. One community, not a city hub.
Woodlawn Lake sits in northwest San Antonio inside the city, just south of the Monticello Park Historic District. The city's Guide to San Antonio's Historic Districts states Alazan Creek was dammed in 1889 for a West End Town Company suburb. The city acquired the lake between 1924 and 1928 and built the pool and Mission Revival community center. The park remains city-owned recreation land.
Two overlays matter. Woodlawn Lake Park is its own local historic district (city survey cites 2000 designation). Surrounding residential blocks fall under NCD-8, adopted November 18, 2010, per City Council ordinance Z2011010. NCD-8 covers about 527 acres per the ordinance text. Monticello Park Historic District lies immediately north. Confirm whether you are buying park-adjacent residential, inside Monticello Park HD, or inside NCD-8 only.
City, county, and school-district taxes. No Woodlawn-wide mandatory HOA. NCD-8 and any historic overlay add design standards on qualifying parcels.
